Birthdays Season
Has it ever happened to you that at one point in time, suddenly everyone's birthday seems to be happening at the same time?

Quite literally.
Today I had two birthdays to go out for.
Well, technically... It was really just shopping for one and a dinner for another one.
That being said, I actually love birthdays! Even when its not my own... I don't know why, but I have stopped feeling excited over my birthday ever since some years back. Probably because it didn't seem important to someone, I just decided to regard it was unimportant as well. All part of a defense mechanism!

But generally I still enjoy birthdays! It just gives a reason for everyone to gather & be happy for a special someone.
In the afternoon, I met Clive to shop for Yu Ping's present. Did I mention? I was notoriously late.

I had this craving for noodles, so I brought him to J-Town Cafe! I still have to thank Ivan for introducing me to this awesome place!
Its cheap, plus the food is good! Whats even better, its in town! So convenient.

My friend, Clive.
Don't know why he took such a closed-up shot of me...

Anyhow, the noodles are really awesome!

And a must-have every time I go there, is the pancake dessert!
For me, I naturally went for the chocolate flavour.

Typical male, so messy while eating.
The pancake looks like it took a crap on his hand.

Bwahahaha!! Anyways, I cannot stand shopping with men too.
Every time you ask for their opinion, there are always a few standard answers:
1. "No opinion."
2. "Okay, sure."
3. "I don't see any difference between the two."
Roar.
So stop complaining every time you see so few male retail stores! Because the companies have a hard time doing R&D with such feedback!
I wanted to get mascara for her, then Clive said the most bimbotic thing, "Oh, this is to line your eyes one right?"
My gosh.
Mascara.
Eyeliner.
Two complete different things, please.
No wonder he said we needed to get her present together, because chances are if I told her to buy her facial cream... He'd probably get her some facial cleanser or something.
Its like telling someone to get you some chicken, but they came back with ducks.
Somewhat same category, but totally not the same!Did you know that the Singapore-Malaysian currency exchange rate dipped again? Meaning to say, that the Malaysian dollar is now lesser than it was originally.
The last I checked, it was always roughly around SGD1=MYR2.
Poor Clive, for MYR50... He was only given SGD20.
While walking around, I really wanted to get my nails done! But all the nail parlors where full!
That made Clive very happy though... He was already blushing while standing outside. Roar.
Well, after getting Yu Ping's present... It was almost time for the second birthday of the day! Jun Yong, Mark's friend was treating all of us to a nice buffet dinner!
So while waiting for my boyfriend to come, Clive & I went for a nice drink.

I actually ordered Milk Tea, Clive ordered White Milk Tea.
Then my drink came first, but he thought it was his... So he happily went to gulp down practically 1/4 of a the cup.

Then when his drink came, we kind of realised that it was the 'whiter' one. Roar.

Then my boyfriend came in!
Don't know why he looks so grumpy here...

Anyhow, after that we rushed down to meet his friends!
I felt mighty bad... Because I'm Mark's girlfriend, I got to sit on the front seat. So basically, five of them were squeezed on the backseat.
Literally, squeezed.
Birthday boy Jun Yong treated us to a buffet dinner at Trader's Hotel! It has been one of my favourites, primarily because of the desserts!!

But I don't know why I was feeling really bloated tonight... So didn't really eat as much as I normally would at a buffet...

Regardless, it was a wonderful meal!
And Mark's friends are really a cute bunch of people. After dinner, we all piled back into the car... Along with our really full tummies! Back to Mark's house!
They were all going for a few rounds of mahjong.
This game, I really have to learn to master. Seems like everyone is asking me to play, but I don't know how to play!!
Whats even worse?
It looks like fun!!!!
So I sat down next to Mark, hoping to catch some knowledge of the game...
But I got distracted.
By the television.
Animal channel, to be exact.

I was watching some tiger attacking a woman, dogs helping to catch a criminal, a baboon escaping from its enclosure... All that, but the mahjong game itself.
Before I knew it, it was already around 1AM. Time to head home!! Really tired out anyway.
And still no knowledge on mahjong.
But mark my words! I shall learn it!
Muahahahahaha.
Mark left his friends in his house, to drive me home. Having a girlfriend is so troublesome, don't you agree? I sometimes wonder why he still wants to be with me.
From a business point of view, is there any real gain?
There is a whole lot of expenses incurred... Profits, I don't really see any for now... But depending on what he defines as profits...Bah. There I go again - thinking that everything in the world has to follow the law of economics.
I guess sometimes I just have to remember that its simply because we love each other.

XOXO. Love Love.

Fifi's Birthday Surprise!
Phew. I just got home from a really long day in school.
Okay, technically... I didn't really have many lessons. But thats the story of the Polytechnic life sometimes...
Few classes, heck load of projects. So even without classes, we're busy handling projects.
If we had many classes & the same number of projects...
1. I'd march down to the school office & beg to rent a hostel (because it seems to be open only to foreign students)
2. I'd probably die of over-exhaustion & hyperventilation
3. On graduation day, I'd be like the NS boys who feel this wave of freedom!
Anyhow, despite all the stress & all... I have to say it is still somewhat manageable. Granted, there are times I feel like just stabbing myself & the genius who invented the module.
Today a few of us gathered before class to prepare for Fifi's birthday surprise!
Fifi is a new friend I made in this class & she is such a good friend. You have no idea how many times she so willingly extended her hand to help whenever she saw that I was overwhelmed.
Yesterday I got the presents, in the morning Wai Soe got the slice of cake!

Wai Soe and her usual face.
Melinda looking as relaxed as ever.
Doing project while preparing stuff. We should get a certificate in multi-tasking too.

I arranged for us to meet 30 minutes before Fifi.
So when I sent the SMS to the group, it was 12PM to the others; 12.30PM to Fifi.

When she called me that she was in school, it was cue for Wai Soe to go hide somewhere with the cake!
Then she came in, she sat next to me and was complaining about don't know what.... I wasn't really listening...
Too cooped up in seeing if Wai Soe was entering. After a few seconds, Wai Soe walked in...
And... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO FIFI!!!

Fifi looking thoroughly touched by all of it.

I don't know why I look so pissed giving her the present... Like so unwilling.

Maybe its just the way I wrap, but Fifi was having a hard time opening the present.

I got so pissed off, I literally just ripped the wrapping paper open. Fifi got a little heartbroken.

"Ahhh!!" Was the only sound/word she made/said.

Got her nail polish & an apron!
Because when I was preparing chocolates at her place, she was saying that she doesn't have an apron & she was always meaning to get one.
Wai Soe was all for the nail polish. Typical of her.

Hugs!!

Wai Soe is such an extra please...

But I still love that girl! She looks so cute here!

All together now!

Wai Soe playing with wax....

See! Wax dripped on her fingers! Best part is, she didn't feel a thing.

Must be too thick-skinned.
Birthday girl & I with the candle!

Wai Soe spat saliva on me!!!

See that water droplet?!

Tsk. So unsanitary.
I guess we were just proud that she liked our presents! We sort of made her wear it immediately.

Fifi in an apron!

Class was really quite relaxing... Ironically.
The stress came about after class, when Wai Soe & I went to the library to handle the projects.
I swear, I almost killed myself.
Quite literally.
My brain now knows how the fried noodles feel.
Except I doubt it is half as yummy...
Out to compensate myself, I convinced Wai Soe to have dinner at Subway!!

I was over the moon when she said "FINE!!"
But my cookie was partially gone!!

Sob. And it was the last White Chip left on the tray... So no point going to ask for another one.

I found a blouse which I fell in love with at G2000! Much needed for presentation.
Mommy really put me through the grind to get it...
First she said no, next she said yes just about 7 minutes before the shop was closing. Roar!
So I had to run to the shop.
Tsk.
Ah well, at least the project is more or less done! Its soon going to be all over!

I'm proud of my girls!
XOXO. Love Love.

Still With Love
Most people who have been close to me would know that I have someone whom I hold very dearly.
Someone whom plays a huge part in my life & is why I'm basically happy.

No, its not my dear boyfriend... Granted, Mark is an amazing boyfriend and without a doubt; I have fallen head over heels in love with him.
But this someone today was none other than my Nanny!!

She was the one who watched out for me & brought me up when I was younger. I'll never forget the things she did for me & I am eternally indebted to her.
Today I went to visit her for Chinese New Year!
...And she insisted that I brought Mark along. Probably some approval scan or something.
I was a little hesitant... It was a little too fast..? Mark & I have been friends for a long time now, but we started off as a couple for only about a month. Mind you, a friendship and relationship are two very different things.
Though same in several ways, but the commitment level and all is a lot higher.
Don't take this wrongly... I am dead serious about Mark. He was with me through all my ups & downs; he's seen me when I crashed & burned; he's heard all my nonsensical ramblings; he's shared all my happy moments... Sometimes I wonder why he still loves me...

Anyhow! Point is, I felt it was a tad too fast.
However my lover boy didn't seem to mind at all. He even took leave from work just to be able to make it.

The food Nanny prepared for us! I've always loved her cooking. Probably because I grew up on it...

She kind of scared Mark though, by pouring loads of sauce into his food.

My poor baby was eating more sauce than food.
After lunch, we sat in the living room to relax!

Nothing better than being in the same room with my Nanny & my darling boyfriend.
Good thing Mommy was there too, at least she was able to chat up a storm with Nanny. My Hokkien is so... Well, practically non-existent.
All I know to ask is, "Have you eaten?"
Sheesh.
After lunch at Nanny's, I left for town to meet Wai Soe!!
Motive? Buy Fifi's birthday present!

However, I didn't know that I was able to get to town so quickly... In the end, I told Wai Soe not to come anymore. By the time she came down, I could've bought the gift and went off already.
Besides, we already knew what to get her!

Good thing Mark came with me, so he stayed with me throughout.
Shockingly enough, we were hungry again.
So it was back to one of our favourite places!
Manhattan Fish Market!!

Lately I've been having a fetish on taking candid shots of my lover.

Maybe its out of revenge or something... He likes to take random shots of me too.
Just that I simply cannot be bothered.

A little something-something to share!

And an all-time favourite of mine!!

We went to buy Fifi's birthday present & Mark makes it seem like I abuse him or something...
But what's wrong in asking your boyfriend to accompany you into girlish shops?? Tsk!
Oh well, I like Fifi's present!
Really hope she likes it too!Y'know... I've been seeing Mark a lot lately.

...Maybe thats why I'm so happy!

Thank you, Daddy. I just found another reason to smile.
XOXO. Love Love.

Happy Valentine's <3
Just about a month back, some singleton friends & I were planning a day of "Single-hood". I honestly don't know what we were planning, but I guess it was just to remind each other that just because we are without a boyfriend/girlfriend... No one around us loves us.

After all, Valentine's Day is really about love, isn't it? ...Even though it is technically supposed to be between intimate companions... But bah.
Anyhow, like I said... That was a bout a month back.
As of today, I am happily attached to the most amazing boyfriend ever.

Look at these chocolate-coated marshmallows Fifi made for me!!

She is such a sweet girl!

Another cute couple is Marcus & Ferlyn!

Sorry for the blur picture...

Yes, that is a couple shirt Marcus is wearing.
I believe its this design! Super cute!
Don't think Ferlyn just left her boyfriend in the lurch, wearing a couple tee alone... We were having presentation.
No way, no how... Would the teacher tolerate us wearing couple tees for presentation, even on Valentine's Day.
Today's presentation was for interviewing. Basically, we are supposed to role-play on a job interview. Each of us only had to be inside for about 10 minutes.
I felt like a sucker. I take a 60 minute journey to school, for a 10 minute session. Oh well, thats the way the boat floats.
My friend, Katsuhito Taira.

Who so willingly posed for this shot. Mainly because the first blazer he wore to our presentation (back in year 1), was sooooo hilarious!!!
It was loose, baggy... Whats more, this boy is as skinny as a bamboo...
The blazer was his attention-getter! BWAHAHA!! We never got over that presentation man. Atiqah, me & Wai Soe!

I told Mark to arrive around 4.30PM... That boyfriend of mine was a little too excited I think, he was there quite early.
To make matters worse, at 4.30PM... Only #10 was inside the room, I was #16. Approximately, 1 more hour to go.
My boyfriend then drove & cruised to the reservoir behind my campus, like some loner.

Anyhow, check out what I prepared for him for Valentine's!
Chocolate truffles!!

...With loads of help from Fifi! Haha!

The really sweet (and kind of corny?) card, along with a box-full of truffles!

After my presentation, I went to my baby's car... Dumped my stuff inside & went to change out of my office wear!
Ah!
Comfy!!On our way for our Valentine's date!

I've grown a habit of camwhoring even in the car & Mark used to complain.
Now? He just smiles.

For dinner, Mark made reservations at En Japanese! Which is one of our favourite spots!

Mark kept on ordering sashimi over & over! I swear the waitress even purposely avoided us for a moment...

Some of my favourites!

Some meat? Super tender & yummy.

Of course some beef to put into our steamboat bowl.

Even more sashimi!

I like to put the flower into my soya sauce.

Look at my boyfriend's hands! Like a girl's!! Roar. Almost cannot even tell which hand is mine.

Oh well, but that being said... His hands are nice to hold...

After dinner, Mark told me we had to rush for a late movie.
One thing I love about my boyfriend - he surprises me all the time.
I've gotten to the point whereby I've been able to anticipate just about every action & comment a person would make, that I have prepared a set of reactions to follow-up with.
I don't know how & when I've become like that, but its not really a good thing. Trust me.
Everyone says its good that I know whats coming, but it has made life a little boring for me. Or sometimes, I just have a feeling of impending doom.
Not nice. With Mark? Well, he does things which he knows I would least expect. Having been good friends for almost 2 years, he has become very familiar with who I really am.
So much so, I sometimes think he has a manual titled - "How to Operate Geraldine Sim Xue Zhen".

Its terrible dangerous to have someone know how to operate you! *defense stance!!* ...but then again, Mark is the one person I trust the most.
So I guess its okay!

We went to catch No Strings Attached!

I must say, great show!
And this is what he gave her when she said "no flowers!".
Crazy cute!!

Its really all about how when you become physically intimate with someone, you are bound to want to have a part of that someone eventually. And you're bound to fall in love, even though two of you promised never to fall in love.
I know some friends who have friends with benefits.
I don't know how to work the whole system... How do you go kissing, hugging & sometimes even sexing someone, without even wanting to make that someone yours?
...Or maybe its just that I am rather possessive...?
Little things girls do in the washroom, while the boys wait outside.

After the movie, both of us were already bushed out... Especially Mark. But he still insisted on a nice supper at the 2am Dessert Bar!

I don't remember the last time I've been served tea in such a manner...

And of course some nice delights!

This whole cake was really sour. My gosh, especially the lemon strip.

My favourite part was... Expectedly, the chocolate with vanilla part!

I practically gobbled the whole thing up.

Once we got back to the car, Mark took his present out!
My boyfriend was getting pretty excited over his present.
So cute!
Sad thing was, I completely forgot to tell him not to put the present in the boot...
The chocolate melted.

Oh well, I can always make more for him another time!
Its the least I could do for my baby, since he brought me out on such a wonderful date!
Just when I thought everything ended there, my boyfriend said he left something for me somewhere in my stuff when he kissed me goodbye at my door.
Okay, I had a lot of stuff today.
1. My tote bag. Which was flooded with nonsense, by the way.
2. My shoe bag. With my court shoes inside.
3. My other bag, with my notes that people wanted to borrow today. Along with my portfolio for my interview presentation.
Exhausted, but fueled with excitement... I quickly plopped all my stuff on the floor and attacked my tote bag first.
I literally poured out the contents. That diabolical boyfriend of mine didn't even give a hint on what he put inside.

I didn't even know what shape, colour... What it was at all, period.
A few minutes later, he called when he got to his car. Then said, his girlfriend was too blonde and probably still didn't find it anyhow.
Roar. Irritating.
What's even more irritating?
He was right.
I had zilch results in finding what he left for me.
So he just said, "Its in your portfolio."
Immediately, I flipped through all the plastic leaflets of my portfolio!
Only to find it at my last leaflet.

So annoying.
I laughed so badly when I saw the envelope. Trust this to come from an SAF boy.
And the picture he printed behind was always one of my favourite shots of him.

Namely because I took it sneakily while we were Skyping when he was in Australia.

Bwahahaha!!
We are going to visit my Nanny tomorrow together! I personally think its a little too fast... But my Nanny knows of my new boyfriend and was quite insistent that I brought him along.
I think she wants to conduct an approval scan or something.

Alright. Off to snoozy-woozy!
XOXO. Love Love.
